Genmaicha milk tea is a popular Japanese tea beverage that combines the nutty and earthy flavors of genmaicha tea with the creamy sweetness of milk. This is something you may find at trendy cafes and tea shops around the world, but today we’re going to learn how you can make it at home for a fraction of the price!


Ingredients

  • 6 g of Genmaicha Tea Leaves

  • 120 ml milk of choice

  • 120 ml water

  • 3 tsp Sugar (or Honey)

  • Ice (optional)

    1. Boil water to around 180-190°F (82-88°C)

    2. Add 6 g of Genmaicha Tea Leaves leaves in a teapot

    3. Let the tea steep for 1 minute. Feel free to steep more for stronger taste.

    4. Pour the tea through a strainer into a cup or a glass.

    1. If you are using cow's milk, heat the milk in a pot over medium heat until it is hot but not boiling. If you are using a non-dairy milk, such as almond milk, heat it in a pot over medium heat or in a microwave-safe container for about a minute or until hot.

    2. Once the milk is heated, use the frother or steam wand to froth the milk until it has doubled in volume and has a creamy texture.
